“What’s on the Interface Tonight?”

This article presents a new method for analysing video-on-demand (VOD) publishing strategies over time. It demonstrates this on two public service media [PSM] VOD platforms from countries: BBC iPlayer in the UK and DRTV Denmark. The begins with close analysis of their respective interfaces to contextualise our subsequent “distant reading” (Moretti, 2013) these platforms.We use distant reading examine spatial temporal patterns present both interfaces, based original data sets that have been compiled period approximately 14 months (beginning August 2019).This is analysed visualised order reveal anomalies at macroscopic level. Through services, we offer valuable insights into, metrics for, performance PSM platforms.
